Use of email as a management style more than a tool, thoughts?
I have a problem with the use of e-mail more than a tool to improve communication. I've seen it used as the only means of communication, replacing face to face pers. on the spot work. I do not dispute the need for email, particularly in major. However, it disgusts me to see replace one on one interaction. I would like to put some formal thought together on the theme as a way of hoping to get my point across the company where I work. I am looking for input, and if anyone has seen items on the subject around. I was planning to see the correlation with the phone, and how Teleconferencing systems has become a part of the business, but has never had more like the email has in some offices because of the importance of face to face interaction.
