The G20 Protesters myth, Why are people buying the thugs line?
Just curious why some facts are ignored by the so called protesters and their supporters.
1) The main G20 demonstration over the weekend attracted a crowd of 35,000. There was one arrest for Drunken Disorderly
2) On the first day of the G20 summit riot police where only deployed to areas that have been the victims of thuggery, violence vandalism by so called peaceful protesters, In other areas of the city police where in normal uniforms and there was little or any trouble
3) On the second day of the summit there was no trouble in London, However at the location of the NATO conference local people where subjected to the same attacks by the same groups of protesters who had simply jumped across the channel to cause trouble elsewhere.
should these thugs been banned from travelling outwith their own countries during summits in the same way football hooligans are banned from travelling during football matches
I was there, not to protest, but because I’d got a new camera, and thought it may be a good way to give it a road test.
I would have to say that from what I saw, the police behaved very well, in the face of a huge amount of provocation. I don’t know why people think that protesting equals abusing the police – it doesn’t.
And you’re right, there were as many foriegners there as English people – I lost count of the amount of people I saw with their faces covered, who just turned up to make trouble.
I was there, I didn’t get abused, but then I wasn’t asking for it.
