Conference Calls South Africa
Please help i have some questions(missionaries only)?
Okay my high school youth group at church went to a christian youth conference for a week and we saw a movie there called Zambia’s song about the water crisis and my youth group was really inspired and wants to plan a missions trip next summer to Kenya or some other part of Africa or maybe even south america but i have some questions
1. would you drink the same water that got them sick,and eat the same food that gets them sick
2. would you sleep in the same place they sleep and use the same bathrooms
3. would you catch their diseases how do you prevent catching something
i mean i think it would be cool but i don’t want to get a disease or anything like i said missionaries only they would know
I worked at a refugee camp in the Sahara.
We lived exactly like the people there, ate what they ate, slept where they slept and pooped where they pooped.
I came home completely healthy.
Just take basic precautions – make sure the food is cooked and the water has been boiled.
Oh, and get your vaccinations in order, and if you are in the tropics, use a mosquito net and repellent.
And be prepared to forget showers for a while.
