Conference Calling Oklahoma
New College Conference?
I propose a new college (football/basketball/baseball) conference.
Call it the “Big South” or “Southern 10″
teams would be:
Texas
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Oklahoma
Oklahoma St.
LSU
Arkansas
TCU
Houston
UT-El Paso
that would be a fun conference to watch.
Uh, there already exists a Big South Conference. It is a Division I conference that has nine members (soon to be eleven) and plays D-I FCS (formerly I-AA) football which has only four teams (five starting next season). Otherwise that is a good idea. I would rather have a conference with all of the Texas teams in it. That would make the lineup Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, North Texas, Baylor, UTEP, Houston, TCU, and SMU. Those are the ten Texas schools that play D-I FBS (formerly I-A). Now that would be a good conference. Only problem is that Lone Star Conference is already taken by a D-II conference so maybe call it the Texas 10 Conference?
