800 Conference Calling
What would you do in this case?
I live in Shippensburg,PA and i used to live in Roseburg,Oregon. My half brother was turned in on May 26,2007 about how he raped me and did things to my older sister, he has been in jail since and it’s now finally going to trail, now since i moved across the country,got married,and had a son on Nov 25,2008, i just received a Subpoena in the mail not certified,not personally handed to me but through the regular mail and the envelope says first class mail. The trail date is March 4,2009 at 9:30am. I did call the 800# but i got no answer from the da and left him a msg asking him to call me back and asking if their is anyway possible that they can have me do A Conference Call or something instead of me leaving my almost 3 month old son and my husband here in pa.
But my husbands family is thinking that i don’t HAVE to go because it wasn’t personally handed to me, is this true?
What can/should i do?
i would go. i took my baby to court when i had to testify. when they are that little they are contained in a car seat so no worries about him. anyway you need to be informed about all that is going on so that this man doesn’t go free. if you do a Conference call you will not know everything that is going on. i know it is a long way to travel but it sounds like it is a super important reason to. good luck and i hope that scumbag rots for what he did!!!!
